It has become apparent to me in the last couple of days that Adam is taking in way more of what he hears around him that I thought. Since BOTH my kids have let me know that they do not enjoy country music (even though Adam can sing the KYGO jingle LOL), I have taken to listening to Alice 105.9, which J also listens too. I enjoy it because they talk about some very interesting and funny topics, and the music isn't too bad either. When I have it on in the car I turn only the front speakers on and try to keep it so just I can really hear it. As my family would agree to, I can be a little naive, sometimes. Apparently Adam hears EVERYTHING and is remembering it. We were in the car this morning and he all of a sudden starts repeating the beer commercial that is always playing for Tecate (may be spelled wrong) Light. He can repeat nearly the whole commercial!! Thank goodness he says "Cate Light". I can't even stand to smell of beer and the only beer we keep in the house is J's brother's home brew. J and I were talking about a topic Alice had been discussing a few nights ago at dinner. I can't remember what it was, but all of a sudden Adam joined the conversation. He had remembered the topic as well, although he fortunately didn't actually understand what it was!! The topics are sometimes inappropriate for kids, but you would have to KNOW in order to actually truly understand what they are talking about. Again, I was being naive thinking Adam wasn't listening. I guess we will be listening to good old CD's for now on.
I would love to hear if anyone else has run into this problem!!

Fun in the sun!
Since I posted four does that make up for missing so many Friday photos?!?
I LOVE the expression on her face here!!
Every Tuesday we go to the park with Adam's friends from school. This week I decided to relax a little and just go by ourselves. A (nanny child) has been sooo grumpy lately that I wanted to focus a little more on her and was also hoping she would be less whiny and clingy if it was just us. I'm not sure if it worked or not. I do know that I was very thankful for the shaded picnic tables since it was 90 degrees out!! We had tons of fun playing despite the heat. (Then we went to A's house and turned the AC on. I am NOT ready for summer!)

School news
We found out Adam's school info last night. He will be on the B track which means he actually starts school on July 30th and he is in the pm kindi. They showed us these statistics about how many kids are signed up for kindergarten this year, 127 kids, and how 97.5% or something got their first choice for track and am or pm classes. Apparently 5 kids didn't get the first choice, we are one of the 5. I had hoped for A track and am class. It made me laugh, although I am actually happy with what we got. Adam will get 3 more weeks of summer vacation than the other kids AND he will be more alert in classes since he will go 12:05-2:45pm instead of having to start at 8am. I am hoping to get him into the after school program and then I will only have to find childcare for 3 mornings a week. I figure it should be cheaper this way. An added bonus for me on my days off is that he will be in school when Noelle naps. It will be nice to still be able to have some down time in the afternoon 2-3 days a week. I am still trying to get it through my head that he will be in school M-F since for 2 years now it has just been M-Th. Hopefully I don't forget to take him to school that first Friday!! LOL I am really looking forward to him starting kindergarten though. It will be nice for him to make friends with children who actually live near us so that he can have playdates and whatnot.

Enjoying the calm!!
I feel like it has finally calmed down around here. For a couple weeks we were out and about any time I wasn't at work. It was really too much for both the kids and I. We were all getting tired and grumpy easily. So we are taking it easy this week and not planning any extra outings. We do have to go to Adam's new school tonight for Kindi orientation where we will find out who his teacher is, whether he is am or pm, and what track he is on. The track is a big deal since I am a planner at heart. He will either start July 7th or July 28th depending on what track he is on. Also I need to find childcare for him on Mon, Tues, and Thurs once he goes back to school after his summer break. We will also go to the Strong Willed Child seminar we are taking on Thursday night. I am hoping for a lazy day at home on Friday. I would love to finally try out the trail by our house and see how long it takes to walk it to Adam's new school. We have really been enjoying the nice weather this week and I hope it stays for a while. I have managed to get out for a walk every morning so far, even if it was a quick 15 minute one today. I will post some pics soon and also plan on writing about how I tried for Nuggets tickets yesterday bright and early.

Friday Photo: Boulder Noelle
I love this picture of Noelle from last Friday at the Boulder Children's Festival. It encompasses just about everything she did up there. She has a bracelet on that she made at the Girl Scout booth (she is even still wearing it a week later), a tattoo of a large drop of water, stickers, mardi gras beads, a sucker, and a rubber duckie she got for fishing at the division of Wildlife tent (she refused to let the thing go the entire day. You can't tell but she also has a butterfly drawn on her face. She was slow to warm up to the festival but once she did she had a great time!!
