I'm not sure how it is that she is already 12 weeks.  That look on her face?  She was being a stinker and stopped smiling the second I took out my phone to take a picture.  And about 5 minutes later she had her daily poop out.  (Yeah, stupid vitamins.)

Watching Tim Allen's "The Shaggy Dog".  We LOVED it and we had to keep calling him away because he was actually pushing on the screen with his nose.  LOL!

Two things here:
1-The marketing director should be fired immediately
2-Thanks, but I think I'll stick with the banking institution I'm already at.  At least they know how to spell.

FAIL!

This is one of my favorite outfits of Noelle's.  It was actually bought as her going home dress.  But then she was born at only 6 1/2 pounds and we had to substitute something that could actually fit.  I'm so happy that Lily is getting to wear it now!

I love to watch Lily play.  She is so inquisitive.  She is one of those baby's that you can just see by the expression of her face that she is learning.  She'll move her fist and bump the toy, then kind of jerks when the toy starts to move.  I even caught her watching her fist yesterday with wide eyes as she was moving it slowly.  So neat!

Oh, and this - Lily playing.  You have to watch the whole thing because the best part is at the very end.  Hilarious!!

She LOVES her Eeyore!

As a side note:  She has one pointed eyebrow, the right one.  We think the left is curved in a "normal" shape.  She gets it from her Daddy who has TWO pointed eyebrows.  Adam has one, his left.  (He claims he is half Wolverine.)  Noelle didn't get any.  LOL!!

Went scrap booking with some friends and saw this goose hanging out in a planter on our way to grab some dinner.  It didn't seem bothered by the pouring rain.  Earlier in the evening when I had driven into the strip mall I saw his standing in the middle of the sidewalk.

Beautiful, sweet little girl taking a nap at the park during a play date.

Adam and Noelle playing Rock Band.  And that orange and yellow blanket in the left of the picture?  Lily is sleeping under there.  The noise didn't bother her one bit and that's the way I like it.

Headed out to enjoy the Colorado sunshine!  I actually am not using the front pack very often right now because she has trouble settling down in it.  She goes crazy trying to find something to suck, LOL!

I had several shots I really liked today, so I went with two.

This looks like an, "Oh sh*t, she caught me!" face to me.

Silly girl!

Getting out

Getting my kids out of the house to experience the world is a HUGE priority for me.  I especially love taking them to the Denver Zoo.  We can spend several hours just meandering around.  I always ask what they want to see that day, but we have no agenda.  If we only see a quarter of the animals that's okay.  Actually, we rarely make it through more than about half of the zoo's 80 acres!

Adam really enjoys reading the plaques to learn more about the animals.

The zoo has several areas for kids to play.  We really like this new section by the sea lion pool.  It has sand, rocks, and a fake river to play in.  Tons of fun and a great way to cool off and relax after walking so many acres in a few hours!

We also enjoy attending fun events at the zoo like Zoomily...

and Boo at the Zoo!  Who wouldn't enjoy trick or treating at the zoo!

More often though we enjoy going on walks and playing at the park.  We are very fortunate to have several great parks within walking distance, plus several more that are just a few minutes away by car.  Right now we are mostly sticking to our neighborhood parks since I have a 2 month old.  I prefer the parks that have lots of options for the kids to play and be imaginative.  Swings, climbing equipment, an open grassy area, and a covered structure are my preferences.

This park sits at the top of my son's elementary school.  It's a perfect place to meet him when school lets out.  It is about a mile from home by foot, so it also allows us a little rest before the trek back to the house.

About once a year we try to get to the Denver Botanic Gardens and the Butterfly Pavilion.  The Botanic Gardens is gorgeous no matter what time of year you go, but is bursting with color and blooms during the Spring and Summer.  There is a ton of space for the kids to run and explore.

Playing at the Denver Botanic Gardens.

I hope am pretty sure the kids really enjoy these outings and look forward to them.  I really enjoy making the memories with them and hope they remember how much fun we had when they are older.

Trish Herr's then five year old daughter Alex wanted to hike all 48 of New Hampshire's 4,000+ foot mountains. Would you let your five year old do the same? Join From Left to Write on April 12 as we discuss Up: A Mother and Daughter’s Peakbagging Adventure

As a member of From Left to Write, I received a copy of the book. This post was inspired by the book.  All opinions are my own.

Lily's 2 month check up

Lily went to the pediatrician for her 2 month well visit Friday.  Here's her stats:

Weight:  9 lbs 10.9 ozs  (17.94%)
Height:  21.85 "  (25.78%)
Head:  12.09% (didn't give me an actual number)

She seems so HUGE to me, but I guess she is just a little thing.

I was curious so I went back and looked at Adam and Noelle's 2 month well checks.

Adam - 13 lbs 5 ozs and 23.5"
Noelle - 10 lbs 14 ozs and 22.5"

WOW, big difference between the three of them.  It's easy to see why Adam grew out of the infant seat due to his height at 4 months old.  Back then the seat only went to 24"!!  I don't remember Adam being so big, but I guess he didn't look chubby since he was so tall.  Lily is the first of the kids to be exclusively breast fed.  Adam had mouth issues and couldn't since and Noelle refused to nurse.  I pumped for maybe 6 weeks with both of them but was never able to get more than an ounce total at a pumping session.  So really they were both formula fed from about 1 week or less.  I think that makes a big difference in size.

Lily is 2 months old!

I truly can not believe my baby girl is 2 months old already!

Chubby cheeks!

I wish I could stop her from growing up so fast.  She is getting so big and learning so many things.

She has the strongest neck I have EVER seen on a baby.  She has no trouble at all keeping her head upright when sitting in my lap and can raise her head to look straight forward (90 degrees) when laying on her belly.

She LOVES looking at herself in the mirror on her changing table.  It is so sweet to watch her face light up and listen to her have a conversation with herself.  Oh, yeah, she has been cooing and making other noises for about a week or so now.

She is also reaching for objects.  She will put her fist out towards her reflection in the mirror and reach towards toys hanging above/to the side of her when laying on an activity mat.

She is about 5 weeks old here, but you can also see how she reaches out to touch herself.

She is still nursing almost exclusively!!  She gets offered a bottle very rarely and only if she is rooting a lot after a feeding.  It's clear that she prefers nursing to taking a bottle.  I am thankful that she will take take a bottle and drink formula when necessary.

She's a little possessive of her milk supply, LOL!

She goes between waking up once a night to eat and sleeping through the night.  She CAN go all night.  She actually ate at 7pm last night and then not again until 6am today.  I think I finally got her to sleep about 9:30pm and she slept straight through till 6am.  This really helps my sanity since I do get up at 5am every morning to get ready for work.

Lily's hair is growing like crazy!  I swear it has doubled it's length in the last month.  I have learned that if I want it to lie down I have to brush it down before I even dry her off at bath time.  She has discovered that she has hair in the last few days.  When she is playing on a mat or sleeping she will try to grab it.  Should be funny the day she figures out how to grab and pull!

Babyhawk!

She has started sucking her thumb when she can manage it.  At work today when she was supposed to be napping I kept hearing loud sucking sounds.  Turns out she was desperately trying to suck her thumb and fingers nearly the whole time I was trying to get her to nap.  Stinker!

I caught her in the act here.

This is our third week back at work.  She does well there and LOVES Evan.  She just lights up when she sees him.  She is very tolerant of an 11 month old learning how to be around her.  Evan likes to hold and tug and her hands and feet.  If I'm not fast enough he will try to climb on her or pull her hair. He seems to adore her as much as she does him!

Evan likes to play on the mat with her.

Hugs!

On the second of every month for Lily's first 12 months I will take a picture of her with Curious George and another with her Ladybug cape.

Here is her month two comparison!

Here is month one.

Happy 2 months baby girl, Mommy loves you!
